About Out There

Produced by SeaChange Arts, the Out There International festival of Street Arts &Circus is now the largest festival of its kind in the eastern region. It blends world class acts from around the globe with a mix of hands-on activities for all the family and a wonderful showcase for local artists and community groups.
Great Yarmouth based but working internationally, SeaChange are the arts development and promotion agency for the borough of Great Yarmouth. We have been delivering creative projects through professional artists and working with local people for over 10 years. As well as projects engaging communities, we are also increasing cultural programming in the borough, with a strong international emphasis, reflecting and celebrating Great Yarmouth's increasing international communities from Portugal, Lithuania, Poland and beyond.
Celebrating the growing internationalism of Great Yarmouth, Out There has quickly become one of the UK's foremost festivals with the ambition of establishing itself as one of international importance.
The foundations are there - a dynamic and exciting mix of major international acts; breathtaking spectacles; astounding performances and crazy happenings; and audiences which topped 50,000 people last year.
Out There has been developed with the support of the ZEPA network, an innovative project partnering nine French and English festivals to create and share artists, tours and expertise. While born of these international partnerships, Out There is founded on the historic qualities that make Great Yarmouth unique - a rich heritage of circus, entertainment and a sense of fun! Still a major UK tourist destination, Great Yarmouth attracts 6.2 million tourists each year. There's growing links to the continent with a new international port and a burgeoning international population. What's more, SeaChange Arts and the festival form part of a new £10m development to create a cultural quarter around the town's King Street.
The Out There Festival 2010 is a Synergy event, which supports healthy lifestyles and the active involvement of all people in Norfolk in the lead up to London 2012.
Synergy is part of 'Norfolk Celebrating Talent - looking forward to 2012', the countywide partnership to make the most of the opportunities arising from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In essence, we love being Out There! Out on the east coast, we think we're a little bit special - perched on the edge of the UK and tipping a wink to the continent! Out There brings all communities together to celebrate international cultures and offers a sense of the weird, the wonderful and the unusual. We hope you enjoy!
